“So, where am I?” I ask nervously, walking forward and hoping that this awkward feeling will disappear very soon.
But
before I can get an answer, I stumble over my own feet and fall
forwards. He catches me in his arms without moving backwards. My hands
are splayed on his chest. I remove my left one immediately, but the
right one stays where it is. Over his heart.
We stare at each other. There’s a moment’s silence, which feels like hours. Then understanding comes pouring into me.

I
look into his eyes, my own now flooded with a mixture of panic and
